Fjellsport implements SAP S/4HANA as Nordic pioneer
Fjellsport Group, Norway's largest independent outdoor retailer and the company behind Norwegian online stores Fjellsport and Supersport, and Swedish online store Tindeberg, made history as the first Nordic company to implement SAP S/4HANA.
Founded by former Komplett executives, the company needed a scalable, future-proof platform to support their rapid growth and 200 MNOK turnover. Pearl Group delivered the pioneering solution in just three months, from November 2016 to January 2017, utilizing SAP's in-memory technology on AWS cloud with SAP Fiori interface. The implementation positioned Fjellsport for controlled expansion while maintaining operational efficiency across their growing Scandinavian web stores.
Challenge
Fjellsport wanted to stay at the technological forefront to secure future growth and deliver the best possible customer experience. As a rapidly growing company with ambitious expansion plans across Scandinavia, they needed more than just a basic business system.
The company required a template-based solution to control costs while ensuring quick and effective implementation. Most importantly, they needed a scalable platform that could support phenomenal growth without requiring platform changes, allowing them to build their business without operational interruptions.
Founded by experienced entrepreneurs including Eric Sandtrø (founder of Komplett), Fjellsport demanded a solution that matched their high ambitions for becoming the leading outdoor retail outlet on the web.
Solution
Pearl Group initially delivered a complete business solution in September 2010, covering all of Fjellsport's business processes with necessary system integrations. However, at the end of 2016, Fjellsport chose to implement the groundbreaking SAP S/4HANA solution.
The project launched in November 2016 with an ambitious timeline. Pearl Group delivered SAP S/4HANA with full logistics functionality, utilizing SAP's in-memory technology and operating on Amazon Web Services cloud platform. The solution featured SAP Fiori Launchpad 2.0 for optimal user experience and workflow efficiency.

Customer's benefits
Fjellsport achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first company in the Nordic region to go live with SAP S/4HANA 1610 in January 2017. This positioned them as technology leaders while providing a robust foundation for continued expansion.
The scalable business platform enables phenomenal yet controlled growth without platform changes, exactly what the company needed for their ambitious expansion plans. Operations became highly efficient, supporting rapid growth of their Norwegian stores Fjellsport and Supersport, and Swedish store Tindeberg.
Pearl Group assumed complete responsibility for operations and maintenance, including base operations, application management, and ongoing development through PearlCare services. This allows Fjellsport to focus on their core business while ensuring reliable, innovative system development.
