Meet Tom Berget! Or – maybe you already have? Our Director of Business Development is present everywhere and rarely sits still. But what is he like after work? Let's get to know him better!
Position and country/branch:
My position is called Director Business Development. That means I have overall responsibility for all sales processes and for developing new business ideas, services, and solutions together with all our talented employees.
I'm stationed in Pearl Group, so I work across the countries where we have offices and customers. That is Norway, Sweden, the Baltic countries, and Singapore. We also work with the markets beyond these countries, so I have an exciting and quite mobile role.
Where are you born/raised, and where do you live now:
I come from a place called Åmot in Modum municipality, a fairly small place approximately 40 minutes from Drammen. Modum municipality has the world's largest ski flying hill, which hopefully tells you that people from our village think big.
My workday:
I work as much as possible with our customers, both with selling what we can deliver today and with uncovering needs so that Pearl can further develop its deliveries. It's essential to sell solutions and deliveries that are right for the customer, to understand the needs and the right timing.
Traits I appreciate in others:
I like people who take initiative, people who dare to make mistakes, and who stand firm when the storm blows. It is also vital to have people around you who care for more than themselves.

I get really embarrassed when:
If people hear what kind of music I listen to sometimes – oh oh! It's often slightly cheesy oldies or something like Hellbillies. Or Daniel Kvammen, that's a great flow!
My secret dream that will never come true:
I'm a dreamer! But it is certainly not too late to make anything come true, I think. I have many dreams still to be realized, both for myself and together with others. So, I think nothing is in the category "never" yet.
After work:
After work, I am with my children, and I like to be in the mountains – we have a cabin I use a lot, and I love to go skiing. And to be social. I love to be around people. There's so much good in people!
